I run a group
Getting started4 questions
Does anyone need to install anything?
No. Only you sign up.
The people in your group install nothing, make no account and set no password. They tap the link, say I'm in or I'm out, and type their name the first time only.
How do I share the link?
Send it to your WhatsApp group once, and pin it.
- On Groups, tap Share the link.
- Tap Send to WhatsApp, or tap the link to copy it.
- Pin the message in the group.
The same link always shows the next session.
Where does the register go?
It stays with the group.
On Free the group's page reaches back four weeks. Plus adds the whole register as a spreadsheet from You, one row per person per session, for safeguarding and grading. Nothing is deleted when you move to Free.
How do I turn notifications off?
Turn Notifications off under You.
That one switch stops the push and the email alike. The list still closes at the cut-off; you just do not get the line.
The link and answers5 questions
Which session is the link for?
The next one.
The link always shows the next session that is on, and an answer is for that session only. Each session has its own list and its own split. A group set to one day only has exactly one session.
Can people change their answer?
Yes. They tap the other answer on the same link.
After the cut-off a change is still allowed and is marked late, so you know it happened after you counted. Once the session starts, the link takes no more answers.
What is late?
Any change after the cut-off.
The cut-off is 5pm on the day unless you set your own: a time on the day, or a number of hours before. A time later than the session means the evening before.
What is quiet?
A name that has neither replied nor come for three sessions in a row.
The list marks it, so you can ask after them or take them off.
What if a session is called off?
Tap Call it off on the group's page.
The link says so and names the next session. We message nobody: the page writes the WhatsApp message for you to send. The answers stay, so you can put it back on from the same screen.
Full lists and waitlists2 questions
What happens when the list is full?
The next person joins a waitlist and sees their place in it.
If someone who was in drops out before the list closes, the first person waiting moves up on their own. Your list shows who, so you can tell them.
What if a place frees after the list has closed?
Nobody is moved up: you decide.
With notifications on you are told a place is free and who is next. If they can still come, tap Mark in beside their name and tell them.
Money3 questions
Do you take the money?
No. We never take, hold or move your group's money.
Nobody pays on the link. People pay you the way they already do, and you tick them off with Mark paid. Who owes what is part of Plus.
What does each person owe?
The price you set, or an even share of the total.
You choose when you set the cost. A share moves as people say In or Out. Someone who said In and did not come still owes. A payment stays as the amount paid.
How do people pay me?
The way they already do: Revolut, a transfer, cash.
Write one line under How do they pay you? on the group, such as Revolut, or cash on the night. Everyone who owes sees it on the link beside what they owe.
Spare places3 questions
I am one short. What do I do?
Make a spare-place link.
- On the list, tap Need one more? or Need a player?
- Say how many you want and tap Get the link.
- Paste it wherever you already ask.
It closes itself once the places are filled.
Who can see the spare-place link?
Anybody you send it to.
So send it where you would be happy for a stranger to turn up from. It is for one session and shows your first name, never the names on your list. Stop it with We are grand now.
Why can I not see Need one more?
It is part of Plus, and not offered on children's groups.
On Free the list says so, with a link to your plan. Where anyone answers for a child, there is no spare-place link at all.

Is it free?
One group is free, for ever, with no card.
Plus adds more groups, who owes what, spare-place links and the export. Every new account starts with 30 days of Plus.
What happens when my 30 days of Plus end?
You are on Free unless you subscribe. Nothing is deleted.
Your first group keeps running as it was. Any other group waits, its link still working, until you are back on Plus. Who owes what, spare places and the export switch off until then.
How do I pay, change or cancel Plus?
From your plan page under You.
Stripe takes the card and we never see it. Cancel any time and Plus runs to the end of the month you paid for.
Deleting things3 questions
How do I remove a person?
Tap Remove beside their name on the group's page.
It takes their answers and attendance with them and cannot be undone.
How do I close or delete a group?
Open Settings beside its name, then close it or delete it.
Closing keeps everything and can be undone from the closed groups at the bottom of Groups. Deleting takes its people, sessions and register, and cannot be undone.
How do I delete my account?
From You. It closes at once: your groups stop and Plus ends.
It is deleted for good 30 days later; write to us inside those days and we reopen it, though you take Plus again from your plan page.
I was sent a link
Do I need an app or an account?
No. No app, no account, no password.
Tap the link, tap I'm in or I'm out, and type your name the first time only.
Who sees my name?
Only the person running the group sees your name.
Everyone else on the link sees how many are in, never a name or an answer.
How do I change my answer?
Open the same link and tap the other button.
After the list closes a change still counts and is marked late. Once the session has started, answers are closed.
Will you text or email me?
No. Nothing is sent to you. The link always has the latest.
We never ask for a phone number, an email address or a password.
The list is full. What now?
Tap Join the waitlist and you see your place in it.
If a place frees before the list closes, you move up by yourself. After it closes, the place is up to whoever runs the group.
Do I pay here?
No. Nothing is paid on the link.
If there is a cost and you are in, the link shows what you owe, and how to pay if whoever runs it has said.
Can I answer for my child, or for someone else?
Yes. One phone can answer for up to six people.
Tap Answering for your child? under your name the first time, or Add another person after you have answered.
Did not find it?
Write to us. A person reads every message and answers by email, usually within a day.
